Faith: Tested and Tried

Has your faith been tested and tried and come out as pure as gold? I’m realizing that because we are comfortable as American Christians we deceive ourselves thinking we are stronger than we actually are. Do you realize how weakness and depravity? Peter was fine while he was with Jesus and the 11 disciples, but the moment they left him he denied his Lord (Mt 26:33). If you were taken to another part of the world where you knew nobody, didn’t understand the language, and where Christians were despised, would you be able to remain faithful? Would you turn your back on the very One who saved you?

Recently, I’ve been captivated by the life of Jim Elliot – the famous missionary and martyr to the Auca Indian tribe in Ecuador.
